San Diego fun

First things first - check out Carlsbad and their good donuts.
We want to rent a beach house here so we headed to the beach.
Played in the water Had foot races drawing contest
Everyone loved the beach and the weather was beautiful and warm.
We drove down the PCH with the grandkids singing all the way
to Torres Pines. Ethan kept saying that his little heart was racing he was so happy. They tried to get a tee time but it just didn't work out.
The course is beautiful.
Several years ago Dane and I golfed their with a guy that had a real nice expensive set of pings that couldn't hit the ocean. Believe it or not I shot better than he did.

On to San Diego We took the kids to a new place in Old Town for wonderful green chili verde and then to the Mormon Battalion exhibit. They really enjoyed it and the little boys got to dress up as soldiers and were very concerned about Charlie the 9 year old boy that walked for 8 days by himself to meet up with his Dad and the Battalion. Did a little gold panning too. It was fun and very first class.
Also went to the SS Midway and toured around. They had a head set tour but kind of hard to do with the kids. Got to sit in planes and hear all about landing on the ship from retired Navy pilots. Very interesting.

Kade and Addison and their parents had to leave that evening
to go back to their real life.
It was great to be together!!!
