This years girls weekend was a trip to Utah for Women's Conference. We had a great time with lots of chatting, shopping and eating. I had been once to the conference but the girls hadn't so we thought Utah in the spring would be perfect. What we found was tons of women and snow!
We started our day with breakfast at a favorite of Natalie's "Communial' which was the first of many great eats. Then took in three classes, great pizza at "Slab pizza" then on to the rest of the weekend. We went to a cute little village with fun little stores and some snow. We were suppose to go the
tulip festival but will have to do that another year. We stayed at the Hotel Monaco in
downtown Salt Lake City.
The room was big with huge tall ceilings and very nice.
Saturday we got up and went to breakfast at Les Madeleines a cute French pastry shop with a very nice server. The girls had pedicures while I checked out a fun book/clothing/children's store. A lot of shopping where the girls bought the same cute red shoes and then to probably my favorite place that we ate.Guy Fierri of the Food Network loved this place
and so did I.
The meatball sandwich was outstanding!

A stop at "The Gateway" for a little more shopping and a the movie "Water for Elephants." We all had read the book but I did not remember much. So I am old. The Dr. mentioned the same thing and Ash said the movie was just like the book. Yikes what does this all mean?
Dinner at the "Blue Iguana"(good Mexican) which was right down from the Hotel but we didn't know that until the next day. Good thing we didn't have to pay for parking;)
Sunday morning the sun was shining and so nice out. We went to Temple Square to see the Spoken Word and the Tabernacle Choir. Dirty dark secret...I don't like them, they sing in whisper mode
until I see them live.
Wow it was wonderful and I love the warm feeling
the message was outstanding too

brunch at the Grand America to end the weekend.
The room was beautiful and the food was delicious
and the company even better!
So fun to be with the girls.
I think we need to rename the girls weekend to
"good eats weekend and back to the gym"
next years...the beach

ps great to see the grandkids and jump on the trampoline with them!
pss thanks boys for being single dads for the weekend and thank you Buck

This is a wonderful tradition. It's so nice that you can pull it off. I read the book too but didn't like parts of it. I hope the movie is better.
