California Vistors Glacier National Park

So fun to have the Palmer's for their summer vacation in Montana.  Dane had a conference in Missoula so Ashley, Rich and the kids flew into Missoula.  It had been years sine Ashley had been to Missoula.  We saw the city and Montana University.

Down by the river that runs through town they have a Merry go Round that was pretty fun.

Crewe and Dayne had never been on one that you grab the rings.  The person that gets the gold ring gets a free ride.  Needless to say we rode several times.
The horses were painted pretty colors and we all got rings but Crewe and Rich were the lucky one that pulled the gold ring.

The next day we went to Kallispell and got a hotel and then went to Glacier National Park.  It is beautiful.  We saw a black bear walking by the river.  We were all excited to see the bear but we were to late with the photos.
  • We took the 2 hour, 52 mile, Going-to-the-Sun Road, up Logan Pass to the highest point of 6,646 feet.  The road is narrow and steep and beautiful.  At times I couldn't look over the edge but it was oh so pretty.

The Weeping Wall and Jackson Glacier

Day 3 we drove around Lake McDonald and Rich, Ashley, Dayne and Dane took a boat ride on the lake.  Crewe was sick so he busy being sick to his stomach and sleeping.  It wasn't very fun for him but I stayed in the car with him while he recovered.  That evening we went into Big Fork and saw the musical Shrek.  It was so good and boy could they sing.  The theater was very nice and new, the actors were very professional and our seats were outstanding.  We all loved the show!
We went back to Missoula and dropped Rich off at the airport as he had to go back to work and we started back to Billings.  We stopped at the Pit in Butte, Montana and checked out how they mined for copper.  We also stopped at Pork Chop Johns and the kids had their first pork chop sandwich. Yum! It was a very fun trip and so happy to have the kids with us.
